Check out some of my favorite and most challenging projects as my career and experience have evolved over the years. Want to see more than what's on this page? Let's chat.

Portraits of Courage

Portraits of Courage: The Story of Women’s Suffrage in Arkansas is a six-part, documentary-style series I worked on for ArkansasIDEAS, designed to provide Arkansas educators with 1.5 hours of professional development credit in history. In this project, I interviewed historians and professors across the state to bring to life the stories of the women and men who shaped Arkansas’s suffrage movement. The series is also publicly available on PBS LearningMedia, extending its reach beyond Arkansas schools. Check it out HERE.

This was one of the most research-intensive projects I’ve ever worked on. Filming and conducting interviews during the early weeks of the COVID-19 pandemic presented unique challenges, especially around resource availability and scheduling. Looking back, I wish I could fine-tune a few lines of the script, but as they say, hindsight is 20/20. Overall, this project pushed my skills in storytelling, historical research, and production coordination, and I’m proud of the impact it continues to have.

Paradigm Shift

Paradigm Shift: Seeing Students Through a Trauma-Informed Lens is a multi-part course developed to support educators working with students who have experienced trauma. Much like Portraits of Courage, this series was built around authentic conversations, this time with Arkansas educators who brought firsthand experience and insight into trauma-informed teaching. The goal was to provide schools across Arkansas with practical tools and ideas they could use to create safe, supportive spaces for their students.

One of the biggest challenges we faced was conducting interviews. Many of our participants were from small, rural communities and were uncomfortable being on camera. Thankfully, our team of subject matter experts, comprised of counselors and behavior specialists, played a crucial role in building trust and rapport, helping our interviewees feel comfortable and heard.

Of all the projects I’ve worked on, this one stands out as the most personally impactful. It not only deepened my understanding of trauma-informed education but also reshaped how I interpret behaviors, not just in children but in adults as well.

This project is available only to educators in Arkansas, but I can show you when we chat!

Rise and Shine Power Packets

Rise and Shine: Summer Learning with Arkansas PBS was created in response to the sudden shift to Alternative Methods of Instruction (AMI) during the first year of the COVID-19 pandemic. Arkansas PBS launched this summer learning initiative to help minimize learning loss for elementary students across the state. In collaboration with a small team of educators, we developed six weeks of “Power Packets” filled with activities in science, math, literacy, and social studies.

This project came with no shortage of challenges. We had zero time, zero dollars, and a long list of goals. I leaned heavily into one of my favorite skills, copywriting, to ensure each activity aligned with learning objectives and remained engaging for young learners. In addition to no time and no money, we were also challenged with translating these Power Packets into Spanish! Guess who doesn’t read or write Spanish? Me. Guess who managed the translation of the packets? Also me. That experience taught me a valuable lesson: always finalize content before sending it off for translation or design.

Despite the hurdles, this project remains one of the most creatively fulfilling and fast-paced experiences of my career.

Blueberry's Clubhouse Focus Group

Blueberry’s Clubhouse is an Emmy-award-winning educational children’s TV show presented by Arkansas PBS. As the production team began planning for season three, I helped form a small focus group of educators to get feedback on the first seasons. I created two key resources for this effort: one to recruit educators and another to guide the focus group session with a clear agenda. The focus group helped us plan the goals and objectives for the subsequent seasons of Blueberry's Clubhouse.

At the time, I was really learning and experimenting with Canva and had a lot of fun designing these materials. Looking back, I can see areas where I’d improve the layout and messaging, but it was a great opportunity to blend creativity with strategy and connect directly with the educators we served.

Lines of Business Card Game

Through analysis and word of mouth, my team learned that bankers across the organization weren't confident in making referrals to other lines of business. We discovered that this was because they didn't know our lines of business.

To address this, we built a weekly card "game" that helped retail staff practice interacting with clients who could benefit from a line of business referral. Each card initiated a conversation about a different line of business, and the staff had to role play the client interaction. We made 39 cards, and the game was played over nine months in banking centers across seven states, resulting in a tangible increase in line of business referrals.

The weekly deliverables paired with tight printing deadlines and multiple internal business partners made this project challenging. I am incredibly proud of the diversity and inclusion that we were able to tap into for the characters in our scenarios.

International Agriculture in Mississippi High Schools

For my Master's project at Mississippi State University, I designed high school learning curriculum for International Agriculture. Using the structure of the Mississippi Department of Education's curriculum at the time, I wrote lesson objectives, lesson plans, activities, and researched the importance and effects of international agriculture. I proposed that the curriculum be added as an elective to the agriculture classes in the state of Mississippi. I never had expectations for my proposal to actually be implemented (spoiler, it wasn't), but I was passionate about this project, and I'm proud of the work that I put into it.

This is my one-time debut as a voice-over actor. Shoutout to voice actors - this was so hard!
